Respite Care
Respite Care gives parents and guardians time to take care of essential family and personal needs like running errands, exercising, or getting needed rest, so they are prepared to return to their caregiving role.
During a Respite Care appointment, Manos will send a Direct Service Provider (DSP) who is background checked and CPR/First Aid certified and who can assist with engaging activities as well as basic in-home care while the parent or guardian is away.
The DSP will ensure the individual under their care is safe, actively engaged and supported, and that their hygiene and nutritional needs are maintained.
The Benefits of Respite Care
Leaving a loved one in someone else's care can be nerve-wracking. Manos's compassionate, skilled, CPR and First Aid certified team will put your mind at ease.
Caregiving can be physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. Respite gives you time to recharge, so you come back home refreshed, ready to return to your routine.
Living with a disability can be an isolating experience for the individual and family members. Respite Care provides social interactions for the loved one at home, while allowing the caregiver time to connect with others outside the home.

- If your Daycare services are Full-Service, a Manos coordinator will match and introduce you to a Direct Service Provider who you will be able to interview and determine if they are a good match.
If your services are EOR, you will be able to refer your own Direct Service Provider who is 18 years or older, CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of their referral, can pass a criminal background check, and is able to work legally in the U.S. The selected provider completes the hiring process including background check, paperwork, and training - Manos receives a contract from your regional center and you start service with Manos
