What is the difference between Daycare and Respite Care?Text
Daycare is a service where a Direct Service Provider supports your loved one while you are at work. Daycare is regularly scheduled based on your work hours. Respite Care is a service that can be used at any time where a Direct Service Provider supports your loved one with a disability while you as the parent/guardian are able to take a break. Respite is often shorter and scheduled as needed.
-
What is the difference between Employer of Record (EOR) and Full-Service Daycare and Respite?Text
EOR Daycare and Respite is when you refer your own Direct Service Provider and manage your own schedule and services. Full-Service Daycare and Respite is when Manos identifies and places your Direct Service Provider and provides support from our coordinators to help manage your services. Learn more about EOR vs. Full-Service.
-
Do I need to have a set schedule for my services?Text
Yes, Daycare requires a set schedule based on your work hours, but can be flexible to adapt if your work schedule changes. While you do not need a set schedule for Respite services, it does improve the quality of services and better helps retain your Direct Service Provider if you have a consistently scheduled service time.
-
What are the steps for enrolling my loved one in the EOR or Full-Service Program at Manos?Text
You will need to request services from Manos and have your case manager send over a POS contract to begin the enrollment process.
-
If I want to refer my own worker, what steps need to be taken before they begin?Text
If you are referring someone who is interested in working for Manos, they will need to be interviewed by our hiring department, complete and pass a background check, be eligible to work in the United States, and complete the hiring paperwork.

What should I do if my own or my loved one’s POS is going to expire?Text
If your POS is going to expire, you can reach out to your regional center case manager to request a renewal of your contract. This can be done by emailing your case manager or discussing your contracts in your annual meeting.

Will Manos reach out to my case manager when my contract is scheduled to expire?Text
Yes, Manos will attempt to reach out to your case manager if your contract is going to expire. We also recommend that you track the request and follow up with your case manager independently to help move the process along.
